What is a doula?
They are a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to individuals before, during, and after childbirth. Unlike a doctor or midwife, a doula does not provide medical care but instead focuses on comfort, advocacy, and education for the birthing person and their family.
- Birth doulas support families during pregnancy and during labor/delivery.
- Postpartum doulas assist with recovery, infant care, and emotional well-being after birth.

What is an end-of-life doula?
They are a trained professional who provides emotional, spiritual, and practical support to individuals and their families during the dying process. Similar to a birth doula, they do not provide medical care but instead focus on comfort, guidance, and advocacy during a major life transition. They might provide emotional support, legacy work, comfort measures, education, advocacy, vigil presence, and support for families.
What is a sleep consultant?
A trained professional who helps babies and young children develop healthy sleep habits. They work with families to understand a child’s sleep challenges and create a personalized, gentle plan to improve sleep quality—while supporting parents every step of the way.
